Fictitious Logo Set

Learning how to fly

Project Overview

A personal project to break up client work. I imagined each iconic plane as a company that needed a logo, and, as with any logo project, built each mark around the plane's most distinctive features.

My Contributions

I took them one at a time: sketching lots of rough ideas, refining a couple of favorites, then digitizing the best and tweaking it until I was happy. It was fun being my own client.

spitfire logo
Spitfire Hot Sauce: Based on the Spitfire, this logo depicts the airplane's water-droplet body shape.
predator logo
Predator Surveillance: The MQ-1 Predator is known for its limitless surveillance capabilities. The infinity sign doubles as binoculars and also forms a P and an S.
falcon financial logo
Falcon Financial: The F-16 Fighting Falcon has a recognizable air intake on its belly. This design uses that shape along with falcon-like talons.
osprey logo mockup
Osprey Turbines: The V-22 Osprey is a hybrid between a helicopter and an airplane. Its propellers lift it straight up, then tilt forward once it's up to speed. The logo uses the twin propellers and shows the energy gained from ocean currents.
airplane logo
Lightning Utilities: The P-38 Lightning is recognizable for its three-part body. This logo uses that shape, which also resembles a familiar power icon.
